Flash floods at Nepal-Tibet border lead to fatalities and missing persons

At least 543 individuals have died and over 1,500 are reported missing due to flash floods that struck the Nepal-Tibet border. The disaster impacted many foreigners who were in the area for work, guided treks, or pilgrimages. Thousands have been rescued, with some of the injured receiving treatment in hospitals located in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. The number of missing persons may fluctuate as rescue operations continue and as different agencies collect and verify data.
