Labor Party President Wayne Swan will step down from his position in July 2024, emphasizing the need for the Australian Labor Party (ALP) to enhance its membership for future sustainability. Following the Labor Party's loss in the 1996 election, he found himself in opposition but quickly ascended to the shadow cabinet in 1998, eventually becoming shadow treasurer in 2004.
